Chapter 3. Administering the Kurzweil 3000 Network
Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Network Guide 57
The Eventlog file
The Engine records each user action, such as changing Reading Speed,
Mode, and Unit, word lookups, and spell checking as a single line (event) in
the Eventlog file. Actions are identified by a three-digit code. Each code is
followed by a variable appropriate to the action. For more information, see
Appendix A, Event Log Action Codes.
Each event provides the following information:
Date | Time | Users Computer | User Name | Action Code | Action Related Variable
For example, in the above Eventlog fragment:
A user named Griffin Thomas logged in (318),
Opened a document (300) named History textbook.kes.
Began to read (305) History textbook.kes.
Read for about ten minutes.
Stopped reading (306).
Looked up the definition (307) of the word Isolation.
Looked up the synonyms (308) for the word Isolation.
Logged Out (319).
Keep in mind, that in an actual Event log that is tracking numerous users, you
would not see a contiguous series of events as shown in the above example.
Rather the log file records each event as it happens, so that you would see
a more complex (and a bit harder to interpret) ordering.
